Health & Social Needs

“Go West”
Bayer HealthCare together with Ministry of Health launched “10,000 county doctor training project in west China”, spending RMB 20 million on training 10,000 county doctors from 11 provinces in west China in the next 5 years

“Community Health Cabin”
Bayer HealthCare launched “Community Health Cabin” project in 2008 covering more than 20 residential communities aiming at increasing residents’ health awareness and promote the development of community hospitals. Meanwhile, Bayer “Community Treatment Transfer Vehicles” and “Community Doctor Training Bases” were set up in these communities

Agricultrure

Microfinancing
Started in 2003, Bayer has been providing farmers in Fujian and Guizhou province with small loans and training sessions on vital skills such as crop protection

AgriCare Training
Across the broad land of China, Bayer CropScience’s AgriCare project helps to save labor cost, increase yield and farmers’ income via lab research, field demonstration, field instruction and farmers’ training activities.

Donations
Bayer had been continuously offering relief to victims suffered from the natural catastrophes in Hunan, Anhui provinces. Bayer also donated 10 million (RMB) worth of medical supplies and 3.3 million (RMB) cash donation to Wenchuan earthquake victims. Meanwhile, Bayer is actively take part in the re-build work and will donate another 10 million (RMB) worth of interim houses and schools.

Sports & Culture

Partner of Special Olympics
Bayer has been in partnership with Special Olympics since 2002. It has been one of the official sponsors of the 2007 Special Olympic World Summer Games in Shanghai

Soccer-in-a-Box
This is an innovative way to alleviate poverty via promoting sports, education and the spirit of teamwork among school age children in poor areas in China. In three years, this project had sent 617 boxes of soccer equipment to schools in poverty-stricken areas of Yunnan, Guangxi, Guizhou, Jiangxi, Shaaxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Hebei, Jilin and Xinjiang
