SPA Vocational Training

With the cooperation of Shanghai Petrochemical Academy (SPA) located in the town of Jinshan Zhen, Shanghai, the Bayer Training Plant was inaugurated in 2003. It signified the introduction of the German dual education system into China in an effort to drive China's vocational education. Bayer is also involved in a series of sponsorship programs for education and scientific research with partners such as China Academy of Science, East China University of Science and Technology, Tongji University, and Shanghai Jiaotong University.

More than 100 years ago, Bayer adopted the dual educational system in Germany, which today provides professional training in 31 industries including science, technology, commerce, and cooking. Through various activities, Bayer's training ensures the integration of theory and practice. Apart from offering training in Germany, Bayer's vocational education system has been replicated and applied in 20 countries around the world, with 5, 000 students trained annually.
